# API analytics

> See what your Ur Next Door API keys did in Settings > Analytics: manual versus API activity, per key, by event and type, the event log, and CSV export.

Source: https://docs.urnextdoor.com/analytics/

Ur Next Door records what you do, from every source, so you can see exactly what your keys and tools did next to what you did by hand. Only you can see your own analytics.

## Open your analytics

On the website, go to **Settings > Analytics** (`https://urnextdoor.com/settings/analytics`). The app has the same **Analytics** tab in Settings.

## Filters

| Filter | Options |
| --- | --- |
| Period | Last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or 12 months |
| Source | All, Manual (website and app together), Web, App, or API |
| Key | Any one of your API keys, including revoked ones |
| Event | One kind of action, for example created content |

## What you see

- **Totals:** all actions, manual actions (split into web and app), API actions, the API's share of the total as a percentage, and the number of API errors and rate limited calls in the period.
- **A chart over time:** by day, or by week for 90 days and by month for 12 months, with web, app, API and other stacked.
- **Breakdowns:** by event (for example created content), by content type (posts, questions, polls and so on) and by key.
- **The event log:** newest first, 25 at a time, with the time, the event, the source, the key that made it (for API actions) and a link to the content while it still exists.

**Other** counts server side events attributed to you. A scheduled item that goes live later is counted under the source that scheduled it, so a post you scheduled through the API still shows as API activity, with the key that scheduled it.

## Export to CSV

Use the export on the Analytics page to download the event log with your current filters applied, as a CSV file for a spreadsheet.

## Recent requests, per key

For request level detail, open **Settings > API keys**. **Recent requests** lists your latest API calls: request id, time, method, route, status code, error code, key prefix, client and duration. Match a `request_id` from an error response to see exactly what happened.

## What is and is not recorded

- Recorded: actions you take while signed in or through a key, such as creating, scheduling, editing and deleting content, comments, answers, votes and follows.
- Not recorded: page views and clicks, your IP address, your user agent, and request bodies.
- Kept: activity for 400 days, the API request log for 30 days.

See [Keep your API key safe](https://docs.urnextdoor.com/security.md) for more on what is stored.
