## v1.0.0: API launch (2026-10-15)

The first public version of the Ur Next Door API. Start with [Create an API key](https://docs.urnextdoor.com/getting-started/create-api-key.md), then [Make your first request](https://docs.urnextdoor.com/getting-started/first-request.md).

- **Personal API keys** in Settings > API keys, on the website and in the app: up to 5 active keys per member, each with a name, scopes (`content`, `media`, `schedule`, `read`) and an expiry of 30, 90 or 365 days or never. Keys are shown once and stored only as a hash.
- **Create endpoints** for posts, questions, polls, MCQs, communities, Marketplace services and jobs, each publishing now or at a scheduled time.
- **Scheduled communities:** a community can be created at a later time (`202 Accepted`).
- **Image upload** as base64 JSON or multipart, converted to WebP.
- **Scheduling endpoints** to list, reschedule, publish now and cancel scheduled items.
- **Lookups** for postable communities, service categories, job options, places and community icons.
- **Daily quotas** per plan and action, a 60 requests a minute burst limit, rate limit headers, and `Idempotency-Key` support with 24 hour replays.
- **Settings > Analytics** comparing manual and API activity, per key, with an event log and CSV export.
- **The OpenAPI 3.1 document** at `https://urnextdoor.com/api/v1/openapi.json`.
- **These docs**, with guides for Claude Code, Codex CLI, ChatGPT Actions, Postman, n8n, Zapier and cURL, an agent system prompt, llms.txt and a Markdown copy of every page.

Not in v1, and on the roadmap:

- An official MCP server, so Claude Desktop and claude.ai can connect without a terminal.
- Markdown bodies.
- Importing an image from a URL, and importing files that ChatGPT holds.
- Reading, updating and deleting published content.
- Webhooks that tell an integration when a scheduled item goes live.
- Per key limits lower than your plan's quotas.
